Noah has lived in isolation most of his life. He’s a demon, and demons keep to themselves. He’s not satisfied with his life, though. One night he sneaks out and meets Duncan. He likes the man, but he knows he can’t be with him because it would mean losing everything.

Duncan knows what he wants, and he wants Noah. He doesn’t care—much—about his homophobic parents’ reaction. He knows he has the support of his friends and most of the pack, and that’s enough for him. Will it be enough for Noah, though?

As Noah and Duncan get to know each other, Noah has to make a decision—his parents, or his mate? Choosing his parents means he’ll have to marry a woman and have children, even if he’s gay. Choosing Duncan means he’ll lose everything he’s ever known. Or not?

Noah Gillham Pack Book 4 edition by Catherine Lievens Romance eBooks

I've kept up with Catherine Lieven's Gillham Pack and the Whitedell Pride series. So when this book, Noah came out of course I was checking it out.
Noah is a young demon with potential to be an extremely strong one. His parents are rich and proper and want the best for him and this involves a well bred female demon and arranged marriage. So the conflict is there and Noah is pushed in a direction he doesn't want.

Noah meets Duncan at a night club and of course the wolf shifter knows Duncan is his mate. Due to family pressures the mating is delayed. So the courtship begins. This story isn't extremely long so a lot of information is glossed over. One of which is what demons do. If they think shifters and other paranormals are bloodthirsty and cruel then what are demons? Aren't demons cruel and bloodthirsty? Noah has potential to be an extremely strong demon. . . So what will he grow into doing? And it's not like there weren't opportunities to explain. There were enough questions from the Whitedell Pride as well as the Gillham Pack.

The story is well written and edited and a nice tie in to the other books. Lots of previous characters pop up and the ties between pride and pack are growing stronger. The story focuses on Noah and Duncan and no other outside problems affecting their time together. . . Well, other than family .

What gave this story a three star review was the conflict bottomed out fast and the resulting outcome was predictable and too quick. The story builds and builds and then this sharp drop. Yes parents can be unpredictable. Duncan's pretty well fell in line. Noah's parents? That was an about face. I was suspicious about owning a pharmaceutical company and hating shifters. Anyone? Then the request to visit the shifters. . . . I was wondering about motives. I kept waiting for that thought of mine to be explored but no, I was way off base. Instead we have these parents just fall in line fast. Must be mushy nice demons. No wonder my suspicions were raised. - Dan's Wife
